Decide who adds the note

When two people help with a bottle feed, it can be easy for both to log it. Pick one person to add the note. That can be the person feeding the baby or someone they've asked to help.

A quick 'Will you record this one?' is often enough. Wait for an answer instead of assuming the other person heard. This guide is about sharing notes, not preparing bottles or choosing how much to feed.

Use one place everyone checks

A shared notebook or app is easier to follow than several separate notes. Let helpers know which record you use. Show them where to find the last feed before they start adding new entries.

Swaddlely lets a household share care history. Keep the selected child in view and use the feeding option that matches what happened. Don't use the log as a substitute for your care team's feeding guidance.

Check before removing a duplicate

In a made-up example, Lee adds a feed at 6:20 PM and Jo adds the same feed a minute later. Before deleting one, they check that both notes refer to that one event. Close times alone don't prove a duplicate.

Keep whichever entry has the accurate details. If one person knows the finish time and the other doesn't, ask before changing it. Mark anything uncertain rather than making the two notes look alike.

Pass on the small details

When you take turns, say whether you've added the feed and whether its timer is still running. That gives the next person a clear place to start. A note alone doesn't mean they have agreed to take over care.

You can keep this habit small: one person records, one place holds the record, and both people know where to look. No long report is needed.

The baby care log guide explains how a feeding interval differs from a single care event.
