Keep one list
When more than one person buys supplies, a shared list can save a second trip for the same thing. Choose one place for it. A paper list or a shared note can both work if everyone knows where to look.
Start with the items your family already uses. This is a shopping-note system, not a list of products every baby needs. It doesn't judge which brands or products are right for your child.
Say what needs buying
Write the item clearly enough that a helper can tell which one you mean. Include the details your family has agreed on, such as the size or pack type. Don't expect a new helper to know those details from memory.
Check what you have before adding it to the list. A spare pack may be somewhere else. If you're not sure, write 'check cupboard' rather than turning an unsure note into a shopping request.
Mark who's handling it
A made-up example might say, 'Diapers – Jo will pick up a pack today.' That tells Lee not to buy the same thing. Ask Jo first; putting a name beside an item isn't the same as agreeing to the task.
When the item is home, mark it done. If the trip changes, update the list so someone else can help. Keep finished items out of the way so the list stays quick to scan.
Keep shopping separate from care events
A diaper change and a diaper purchase are different notes. Keep restock requests in a household note or shopping list, not as fake care entries. In Swaddlely, household notes can hold shared messages; it isn't a dedicated shopping service.
Try a quick glance at the list before someone leaves for errands. The goal is fewer mix-ups, not a detailed inventory of every item in your home.
Keep the shared list on any paper you have. If you prefer a sticky reminder, these pop-up notes are one option. We have not tested this item. As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases. Post-it Pop-up Notes on Amazon
For messages between caregivers, see the shared baby tracker guide and its examples of notes without a handoff.
Record actual changes in a diaper log, not in your restock list.
